Murphy is a 2-year-old, 90 lb Golden Retriever mix with the gentlest heart and the sweetest soul. Despite spending the first part of his life chained outside in a trailer park, living on a short chain in his own waste with very little kindness, Murphy has never stopped believing in people. He is living proof that love can overcome even the hardest beginnings.

While he may be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn’t take long before his true personality shines. Once he trusts you, Murphy transforms into a giant, goofy cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you on the couch. He’ll happily offer you his paw, roll over for endless belly rubs, and remind you every day just how grateful he is to be loved.

Murphy absolutely loves other dogs and thrives with canine companions. Whether he’s playing with friends, carrying around his favorite toy, or simply relaxing with his family, he’s happiest when he’s surrounded by those he loves. He’s wonderful with children and has a calm, mellow personality in the home, but he still enjoys daily walks and playtime to keep him happy and healthy.

Golden Retrievers are known for being loyal, affectionate, eager to please, and wonderful family companions, and Murphy has all of those qualities. His past has not defined him—it has only made his capacity to love even more remarkable.
